SMOWL CM

SMOWL CM (SMOWL Computer Monitoring) is Smowltech’s online activity monitoring tool. This tool collects evidence from the user’s computer once they start to perform an activity within its platform. The tool sends this information to the client’s educational platform (LMS) where the administrator or instructor reviews the evidence and detected incidents.

Smowl CM notes on how it works

SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model)

SCORM stands for Shareable Content Object Reference Model. It is a technical specification that allows the exchange of content between different e-learning platforms (LMS) that are compatible with this specification.
SCORM provides the communication methods and data models that enable content and e-learning platforms to work together.

Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals are goals defined to achieve a sustainable future. There are 17 interrelated goals that incorporate the global challenges we face daily, such as poverty and inequality, climate, and environmental degradation, prosperity, peace, and justice. To leave no one behind, we must achieve each of these goals by 2030.

Scalability

It refers to the platform’s ability to grow with the number of courses and learners. E-proctoring software must be flexible enough to adapt as the number of users increases or decreases. This feature is crucial for companies that cannot predict learner volumes in the near future and those that are not constant even if known.

Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is transitioning from today’s society to a more environmentally friendly one. It is a mode of action that balances economic growth, environmental preservation, and social well-being. Gro Harlem Brundtland, former Prime Minister of Norway, defines it as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” It is about exploiting the planet’s resources sparingly without exceeding its natural renewal capacity.

Social Learning

According to Albert Bandura’s social learning theory, the learning process is affected by the environment in which we learn and our interactions. We learn by observing and imitating the behavior of others.
Although Bandura’s theory focuses primarily on learning within a physical classroom, it can be applied to e-learning. Observational learning is increasingly easy to facilitate even within asynchronous activities such as e-learning. You can combine elements such as live seminars, interactive videos, and discussion forums within your LMS.
