SMOWL Proctoring Software uses the webcam of the user to take images randomly during the online activity that are used to verify his or her identity.
The proctoring service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year without need of scheduling and can be accessed from mobile devices.
SMOWL Proctoring Software combines automatic machine validation with human supervision to deliver more reliable results.
The enrollment images of the user are checked against an image provided by the client. SMOWL Proctoring Software double checks the identity of the user during the verification process. This double check makes the system be sure about the identity of the user as the whole process is verified against other verified images.
It is also possible to check and verify the enrollment of the user against a picture extracted from an ID document. The system will analyze any kind of ID document, passport or driving license to extract the face image of the user that will be used to check the enrollment and the whole learning process.
During the course, exam or any learning activity, SMOWL continuously takes images from the user’s webcam and verifies the identity of him. The identity is not only verified at the beginning of the online learning session but during the whole duration of it, and if it is a course, the identity is verified each time that the user performs any learning activity.
SMOWL performs a continuous proctoring service during the whole activity or learning process of the user from the beginning to the end of it. As the system takes images during the whole online learning activity, we are able to say what happened in the user side, if the user was alone, if the user was the correct one or not, if another person was in the room, if the user visited other websites, etc…
SMOWL includes a location analysis service to detect from where the users are accessing to the activities. Analyzing the public IP direction of the user and some other information about the system, SMOWL is able to say if one user or more accessed from the same location. In these cases, SMOWL Team will double check the images and it will be possible to say if two or more users accessed from the same place or room.
