H2020 Smowltech
About the project
Smowltech has been selected for phase 2 funding by the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument. Smowltech will receive funding for its project, “A continuous identity authentication & monitoring system for online services using automatic face, voice and typing recognition”, through the EU’s research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020 SME Instrument.
The grant will be held to accelerate the development of new features and growth of Smowltech’s cyber-security service, covering the need for continuous, automatic and scalable authentication of online user’s identity and monitoring, and to test the solution in large scale pilots testing the scalability of it and achieve new projects in foreign countries.
The technology can be applied to numerous sectors based on continuous automatic facial recognition. This project is implemented in the e-learning growing market, where a substantial need has been detected for online proctoring and remote invigilation services.
Research is undoubtedly an investment for the future of EU citizens. With nearly €80 billion of funding available over seven years (2014 to 2020), H2020 is the most significant EU Research and Innovation programme to secure Europe’s global competitiveness. This programme aims to ensure Europe produces world-class science, removes barriers to innovation, and makes it easier for the public and private sectors.
Smowltech reinforces its international expansion
As a part of its expansion and internationalization plan (especially regarding the EU and LATAM), Smowltech participates in several eLearning related events worldwide. In December 2018, we exhibited at Online Educa Berlin 2018 and eMOOCs 2019.
We participated in other international events such as EnlightEd, EdTechXEurope and AWS EdStart Summit London 2019 as a new member of the EdSart Program of AWS. Additionally, Smowltech has done several Road Shows in LATAM, focused on countries like Colombia and Chile.
